Comparing Golf Patents to Those of Other Sports
The 12:01 Tuesday blog recently had a great post entitled “The Sport of the Patent”. The name of the blog (12:01 Tuesday) originates from the fact that every Tuesday after midnight the United States Patent and Trademark Office issues its weekly dose of about 3,500 patents, indicating the vesting of exclusive rights to their inventors or assignees. This happens automatically, even if Tuesday is Christmas, New Years, July 4th, Yom Kippur, Halloween, the Presidential Inauguration,... Great name!
How do you think golf compares to other sports in terms of the number of patents issued? Care to guess whether the number of golf patents issued more accurately matches the stock market and the economy than the overall pool of all patents? Read the POST to get answers to these questions.

PPS - As soon as I can invent the 30 hour day, or pay the mortgage with blog posts, I will launch another sport / patent blog that I have had in the works for several years. The number of patents in this sport comes closer to golf than any of the sports listed in the article.
