A Couple of Christmas Related Golf Inventions

Merry Christmas! I thought I would find some interesting inventions that combine golf and the Christmas spirit. Should be easy, right? Nope, but here are two inventions that have at least some link to Christmas and golf.

Would you use a Christmas tree shaped golf club carrier? The inventors of USPN 6032999 titled “Golf Club and Accessory Carrier” hope that you will. Check out this carrier:

Check out the shape of those club heads and the length of the grips! The ‘999 patent describes the invention as:

A lightweight golf club and accessory carrier for transporting and retaining a plurality of golf clubs, tees, balls marker and score keeping pencil in a compact package size. The carrier is made out of a flexible plastic material in the form of a single injection molded body comprising a handle connected to the inside surfaces near the top of two downwardly extending end walls. Near the bottom of the device, a ball carrier extends between the inside surface of each end wall. The ball carrier is design to hold three golf balls within a flexible plastic structure that enables the balls to be installed or removed from either the from or back of the carrier. A plurality of flexible club holding clips extend off of the outside and inside surfaces of each end wall and are configured to retain the shaft of a typical golf club. In addition, a plurality of tee mounts, a ball marker mount and a pencil mount the outside surfaces of the end walls and are configured to hold golf tees, a ball marker score keeping pencil respectively.

Or, have you been looking for a “Artificial Flower With Integral Gift Member?” How about if the “integral gift member” were a golf ball? The invention is found in USPN 7326452  .

The ‘452 patent describes the invention as:

An artificial flower which contains an integral gift is disclosed. The integral gift enhances the value and appeal of the artificial flower, or likewise enhances the appeal of an arrangement of such artificial flowers. The invention relates to an artificial flower, or an arrangement of a plurality of such flowers, containing an adapter for holding a small gift member, and a gift member. The scope of the invention includes the artificial flower, adapter, and gift member. The gift member may be selected from a number of special, or thematic, items such as miniature beverage bottles, golf balls, cigars, gift boxes, jewelry, or any gift items.

I am surprised that we haven’t seen these products in the GolfSmith catalogue!
