Ugh, More of the “Kings of _____” Tagline Coming Our Way

Well, it appears that we will be subjected to more “Kings of” advertising in 2019. Take a guess as to what Callaway intends to be the “Kings of” in 2019. My guess… “Kings of Needing a New Tagline Generation Team!” I kid, I love brand continuity when it comes to taglines and product names (just not in this case).

As you know, every good golf product must incorporate the word “speed,” so it is fitting that the new tagline will be “Kings of Ball Speed.” Leave your thoughts in the comments.

This bit of insight brought to you by the trademark office and the following trademark application:

Word Mark      KINGS OF BALL SPEED

Goods and Services     G & S: golf clubs

iling Date         September 10, 2018

Owner  (APPLICANT) Callaway Golf Company CORPORATION DELAWARE 2180 Rutherford Road Carlsbad CALIFORNIA 92008

I am not a huge fan of the tagline, but am curious about the club they plan to introduce under the BROOMSTICK brand name (although I have my doubts about whether the trademark application will successfully mature to registration).

Word Mark      BROOMSTICK

Filing Date       September 7, 2018

Owner  (APPLICANT) Callaway Golf Company CORPORATION DELAWARE 2180 Rutherford Road Carlsbad CALIFORNIA 92008

During the day he helps clients protect their inventions and trademarks, guides them through IP clearance and strategy decisions, and undertakes product name development projects and training; while at night he reads patents and patent applications directed to golf technologies and equipment, and shares them with you.
