I Am Confused, Who Makes the Number One Driver?
Am I the only one that has noticed the subtle jabs that TaylorMade and Callaway seem to be taking at each other in their commercials?
As I recall, TaylorMade commercials used to just emphasize that TaylorMade is the number one driver in golf. Then, I noticed that Callaway commercials started saying, and I quote, “you can only be number one on Tour if you win on Tour,” and they started emphasizing that they are “the number one irons in golf.” Now, I have noticed that TaylorMade commercials emphasize, and I quote, “one driver has more worldwide wins that any other.”
Interesting word play, but as a consumer I am confused. Sounds like a lawsuit is needed to get this straightened out. I am kidding of course, but it is scary to think that a golfer would make a $400 driver purchase decision based on commercials rather than actual fitting data. I guess if you really want to do your research then you are going to have to hit the pause button during the commercials and start reading the fine print that is virtually unreadable.
