Are You One of Those Golfers that Must Tee Your Ball Up Just Perfectly Every Time? You Know… The One That Drives Everyone Else in the Foursome Nuts. Perhaps This Golf Tee Invention Will Help

Are you “that guy?” You know, the one that gets to the tee box and tees up on the far right edge, takes a practice swing, decides that the ball is too low, raises the tee, then tries to tilt the tee slightly forward to gain that extra six inches on the drive, the ball falls off the tee, tees up again, takes another practice swing, and then decides that the tee box is not level on the right side and proceeds to repeat the process on the left side of the tee box.

If you are the golfer that I just described then perhaps you (or the other three people in your group) should be excited about the issuance of USPN 7,223,184 titled “Golf Tee Setting Device and Method.” The patent is assigned to Aviar Technology of Longmont, Colorado. They are the makers of the T-LevL tee installation device. The T-LevL website includes an interesting explanation of how various tee arrangements may affect ball flight.

The patent describes the invention as:

A device is provided for setting a golf tee in the ground at a desired height and angle. In one embodiment, height adjustment of the tee is provided by a threaded screw member. In other embodiments, a plurality of longitudinally aligned recesses are formed within a longitudinal cavity to provide height adjustment. A bubble level may be incorporated on the device to align the golf tee at either a vertical position, or a desired angular position.

Good luck T-LevL!
