Semi-celebrity golf coach Hank Haney has filed for trademark protection of his name. The trademark application seeks protection of the mark associated with the following products:

Golf teaching and training aids, namely, golf club swing aids and analyzers, golf putting and chipping training aids, golf putting stance and stroke aids, and teaching manuals and instructions sold therewith; golf clubs; golf ball pitching machines; golf simulators; golf balls; golf club heads; golf tees; hand grips for golf clubs; and electronic golf putting aids

Smart move Hank! (although I would have filed it for free… in exchange for a few swing pointers).

There is a point in every moderately famous person’s life that they must consider protecting the use of their name as a trademark for certain products; just consider my prior post regarding golfers and their trademarks.
