New Callaway Commercial Featuring Roger Cleveland (formerly of Cleveland Golf)

Have you seen the Callaway Golf commercial featuring Roger Cleveland? Roger explains how he formerly owned a golf company (read between the lines… Cleveland Golf) but now works for Callaway (… and something about innovative designs).

I thought it would be fun to see if he is listed as an inventor on more patents assigned to Callaway Golf or Cleveland Golf.

Given the disparity in size between the two companies it should be no surprise that he is listed as an inventor on eight times as many Callaway patents. In fact, he is listed as an inventor on more Callaway patents than the total number of Cleveland Golf patents.

Frankly, I don’t think this illustrates anything other than the fact that Callaway Golf is huge and is willing to invest a significant amount of money protecting their intellectual property, whereas Cleveland Golf is playing catch up.
Still… fun to know, and it shows that Mr. Cleveland is a prolific inventor. Congratulations Roger.
