The program summary is as follows:
This program is designed for the general litigator who would like to know more about, and possibly become involved in, patent litigation. We will review the basics of the grant of a United States patent, and discuss what types of actions constitute patient infringement. Factors that make patent litigation different from many other forms of civil litigation, such as the exclusively federal cause of action, the difficulties in presenting technical material to a judge and jury, and the extensive use and pitfalls of motion practice in patent disputes will be discussed. We will look at all parts of a patent case, beginning with the pre-suit investigation, through the complaint and discovery, into the critical issues of pre-trial patent claim interpretation, and finally the trial and expert testimony problems. Special attention will be paid to evaluating patent cases from a contingent fee perspective, and a brief look will be included on trademark and copyright litigation.
The cost is $199 (we don’t get paid… so rest assured, I am just informing you of a good educational opportunity… not trying to make money off a seminar).
